Al Qasr Friday Brunch. Madinat Jumeirah, is one of the biggest and most talked about brunches in Dubai, in the height of summer there will be 1000 punters on a Friday across the three venues. Award winning, high energy and sprawled across the three lobby restaurants of one of Dubai’s most respected hotels.
The main entrance to all three is Arboretum, this is the main buffet restaurant of Al Qasr. In here you have a live band, seating and a international buffet. This includes live sushi station, hot desert station, asian and seafood counters. There is also a bakery offering fresh pasta and pizza. On your way through to MJ’s you have a saki station, cocktail station and a massive selection of breads.
MJ’s which is home to a desert station, open kitchen with roast meats (including wagyu beef burgers, steaks and beef wellington) and grilled seafood. There is also an asian section with live cooking of satay and dim sum.
On the opposite side of Arboretum is Al Hambra. On your way through you’ll pass by a pick and mix station, cocktail making station, cognac & cigar station and through to cold desserts, cakes and chocolate fountain. There is also a brownie stall, cheese stand, spanish cuisine stall such as paella. Through into the restaurant there is a massive pork section, sausage, bacon, hams etc – you name a part of the pig and you’ll find it. There is also BBQ meats, curry and a beer tap station.
You will find literally every food type you could ever wish for, and good quality too. You really do get value for money even if you are not an alcohol drinker. If you don’t see something you fancy, just ask a waiter and they will normally get it for you. One of my colleagues once asked for a baked alaska – it was brought to the table in around 20minutes.
The live band will play, take requests and entertain throughout your brunch. By the time a few cocktails have taken effect you’ll have people of all ages up and busting a move just in front of them. If you are looking for a quieter location then ask for seating in Al Hambra or MJ’s, as the band is at the rear of Arboretum. Children are entertained by an activity area and also a rather amusing caricature artist circulating the tables.
As for pricing there is three tiers, none of them are cheap but in our opinion the quality of food and presentation is unbeatable in Dubai:
Ask your waiter for bottled water, soda, juice etc – AED475
Standard alcoholic beverages & sparkling wine;
Glass of bubbly on arrival, topped up by your waiter. Choice of cocktails/beers/wines from menu or cocktail stations – AED575
Moet & Chandon champagne;
Small bottle of Moet on your table on arrival, glass topped up throughout your brunch. Also includes all alcoholic options as above too – AED795
The most famous, and rightly so, brunch in Dubai. It has every food, cuisine, beverage you could desire and more. It does come at a price though.
