Nestled in amongst the waterways and villas of Madinat Jumeirah is one of Dubai’s finest Thai restaurants. As you arrive on your abra you’ll be welcomed by a beautiful lady in traditional Thai dress handing you an iced lemongrass towel. As you enter the restaurant you’ll be transported to Thailand, with beautiful water features, rich woods and, most importantly, stunning peaceful views over the terrace and waterways.

The service in this restaurant is synchronised perfection; friendly yet with a eastern sense of grace. We were served crackers with chilli sauce whilst we browsed the generous cocktail and drinks menu. I opted for a Thai beer to complete the experience, but there were plenty of traditional and cocktails with a twist for those looking for something a little more exotic.

For starter I ordered the vegetable spring rolls which were beautifully presented and lightly fried; not greasy. This was followed with the waiters recommendation of Braised Massaman Beef Curry. This was served with rice from a coconut leaf; a very authentic touch. The flavours of the curry were perfectly balanced, complete with the slight spice after taste expected from authentic Thai cooking. The rice was topped up on regular intervals – including discreet checks on enjoyment of the food.

After two generous and beautiful courses I was going to pass on desert, but again my waiter came to the rescue and lightly insisted on trying the Crème Brulee. I didn’t require much convincing and enjoyed the fabulous flavours of the whole desert, including it’s perfect portion size. The tea flavoured accompanying ice cream complemented the creamy rich brulee, with thin crunchy sugar topping.

A perfect meal, in a breathtaking yet relaxed location.
